Our team


Dr Sarah Aldridge BVetMed MRCVS

Sarah qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in 1992. She worked in mixed practice in Coventry before spending several years working freelance as a Locum Veterinary Surgeon all over the country. She set up Daventry Veterinary Clinic with a colleague from university in 2001. Sarah has a particular interest in pain management in older arthritic dogs and cats.

In her spare time Sarah keeps fit by walking and frequently walks in the Peak District. She enjoys horse riding and combines this with her love of travel, one of her most memorable trips is riding in Tibet. Sarah also enjoys cooking for friends and makes delicious cakes.

Sarah has a black Labrador cross called Ben and can often be seen walking him on Borough Hill or in the Country Park. Sarah and Ben have recently completed walking the 630 mile Southwest Coast Path. They hope to walk the Pennine way next.

Sarah also has two cats Scooby and Rhubarb.

Sarah is a member of the British Small Animal Veterinary Association, The Society of Practising Veterinary Surgeons and the Association of British Veterinary Acupuncturists.


Claire Stanley RVN

Claire started her training in 1997 at Moreton Morrell College, Warwickshire and qualified in 1999. She has always worked in small animal practice and came to work at Daventry Veterinary Clinic in 2003. Claire enjoys all the varied aspects of veterinary nursing and it will usually be Claire who completes your insurance claim forms.

Claire is married with two children, two ponies, an English Bull Terrier called Seeley, a cat called Mini and various small pets complete the household. When not working or taking the children to their many activities Claire likes running, cycling, swimming and horse riding.

Paula Hallin RVN       

Paula began Veterinary Nursing in 1990, and completed a full time residential college course at Berkshire College Of Agriculture. She qualified with credit in 1994 and worked at a small animal and equine practice in Tring, Hertfordshire until 2001, when she moved to Northamptonshire.

Paula began working at Daventry Veterinary Clinic in August 2001 when the practice first opened. She enjoys performing a range of nursing duties, especially doing nurse clinics and having contact with a variety of animals as well as their owners. Paula left Daventry Veterinary Clinic in October 2005 to have her son Oscar, and after enjoying 7 years as a stay at home mum returned to work in July 2012.

Paula has 2 dogs, Barney a Jack Russell Terrier, Tulani a Rhodesian Ridgeback and three ferrets.

Paula’s main hobby is horse riding and she has a horse called Bramble.

Paula is married to Andreas and enjoys camping and foreign holidays, walking and wildlife.

Kathryn Fell RVN

Kathryn started training in Henley on Thames in 1999 whilst working in Twickenham. She has worked in both mixed and small animal practice preferring small animal work. Kathryn moved to Daventry in 2011 to be closer to her three nephews. In her spare time she enjoys various forms of exercise, martial arts based classes, cycling and walking her Jack Russell Terrier Gypsy.

Her main interest is dogs and their behaviour, hoping one day to progress in this field.

After 23 years of veterinary nursing she still can't get enough of puppies!

Lauren Edwards RVN  


Lauren completed her training at Moreton Morrell college, Warwickshire in 2015. She started at Daventry Veterinary Clinic shortly after qualifying in September 2015. Lauren enjoys nurse clinics and caring for a variety of patients. Lauren has a special cat called Rolo who has a condition called Feline Immunodeficiency Virus, which affects cats immune systems. This condition means he has to say indoors all of the time, however he keeps himself busy by playing with all his toys.

Lauren enjoys reading, travelling and shopping in her spare time.

Support staff

Melanie Cotton - Receptionist

Mel has been our receptionist since 2007. Prior to her employment with us she completed a degree in business administration at Stafford University, passing with a 2.1 honours.

Mel loves seeing all the different pets that come into the surgery, although she definitely has a soft spot for Spaniels.

In her spare time Mel likes running Marathons! Over the past few years she has completed 12 Marathons, raising over £15,000 for charity. She has more recently taken up cycling and last year did a 100 mile road race.

Mel lives with her partner Mark and their children along with their Spaniel Boris (the brave).
